The West Highland Way in Scotland is one of the most iconic routes, stretching from Milngavie near Glasgow to Fort William. It leads through rugged Highland landscapes, including the shores of Loch Lomond, the remote wilderness of Rannoch Moor, and the dramatic ascent of the Devil’s Staircase. Daily distances are manageable, and the trail offers a variety of accommodations from campsites to cozy inns, making it a great introduction to multi-day treks.

Spain’s Camino de Santiago is a legendary network of pilgrimage routes, with the Camino Francés being the most popular.
